Complex canes can take eight or more hours to make.This is an example of a simple flower cane being made. First you take some clay and condition it by rolling or sending it through a pasta machine. Next make a snake of blue and a flat sheet of white. Surround the blue snake with the white clay and continue to roll it out into a thinner snake. Cut this into 2 inch long pieces so you have 5 to 6 slices. Using two different colors place a flat sheet of each on top of one another and roll like a jelly roll. Now place the white and blue snakes around the jelly roll. You have just created a flower.
